Fall is in the air. There are whispers of it throughout the day, and stronger voices of it in our coolish, more readily darkening evenings. Leaves are starting to loosen, apples are ready to pick...and I need a good book! A good book just goes with fall - like a pumpkin spice latte, apple butter, or a bonfire. I went to the library today, and just couldn't find anything and didn't know where to start. I need help (I'm sure some of you are thinking that applies on many levels, but let's just keep this superficial, 'k'?). So....suggestions, please? I'm most interested in good fiction, but I am open to non-fic. Anything! Please just give me something to curl up on the couch with as I drink my tea.
Thanks!

This title cracked me up and I thought of you for some reason. I don't know if it is any good, but I really think you ought to give it a try and then tell me if you like it:
The Man Who Loved Books Too Much: "The True Story of a Thief, a Detective, and a World of Literary Obsession"
by Allison Hoover Bartlett
Here is what I received from the my September issue of Goodreads:
"John Charles Gilkey is an obsessed, unrepentant book thief who has stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars' worth of rare books from book fairs, stories, and libraries around the country. Ken Sanders is the self-appointed "bibliodick" (book dealer with a penchant for detective work) driven to catch him.
Journalist Allison Hoover Bartlett befriended both eccentric characters and found herself caught in the middle of efforts to recover hidden treasure. With a mixture of suspense, insight, and humor, she not only reveals exactly how Gilkey pulled off his dirtiest crimes and how Sanders ultimately caught him, but also explores the romance of books, the lure to collect them, and the temptation to steal them.
Immersing the reader in a rich, wide world of literary obsession, Bartlett looks at the history of book passion, collection, and theft through the ages, to examine the craving that makes some people willing to stop at nothing to possess the books they love."
I suggest a hot apple cidar pairing with this book. ~LeEtta
